BASK Magazine’s three-year anniversary celebration was a showstopper! I would expect nothing less with Publisher and Co-Founder Jolie Adams at the helm. Held at a private mansion in Newport Coast with Ferraris and Maseratis glamorizing the entrance, the nearly 400 invited guests were greeted by svelte models in Barbara Bui fashions and tasty hors d’oeuvres from Chapter One and its executive chef Jason Montelibano. The Santa Ana restaurant’s signature cocktails were also a highlight as was the Stella Artois lager beer.

Throughout the glam affair, flash mob dancers from Chapman University‘s esteemed dance program kept spirits high and everyone entertained. DJ Mark Moreno took up the slack with his selection of ear-catching music to please partygoers.

I must admit the highlight of the evening was the multi-tiered anniversary cake, custom designed and prepared by the ultimate cupcake diva, Casey Reinhardt, of Casey’s Cupcakes fame. Hundreds of Casey’s cupcakes surrounded the magnificent confection (see photo), so rest assured, everyone’s sweet tooth was satisfied that night!

The popular quarterly publication deserves kudos for establishing its presence in the luxury lifestyle arena. Fans look forward to seeing what BASK features as the latest in luxury living. Kudos to editor-in-chief Amy Adams who keeps things fresh and engaging. I worked with darling Amy at Coast Magazine for several years and think she is top drawer in every way. And, I don’t want to forget Nick Gannon, the magazine’s communications consultant. You just can’t stop smiling when you’re around Nick! Good friend Kirsten Prosser, the magazine’s talented fashion stylist, styles the fashion features with an astute eye, and contributing photographer Tony Florez, who I worked with at Coast Magazine for many years, always brings a fresh perspective to his work. Finally, President Paul Ansara-Wilhelm, who I’ve known for years, is someone who I respect and admire for many reasons, but most of all for her business acumen.
