Joining me at Riviera magazine’s Women of Style soiree at David Yurman, South Coast Plaza, was store manager Jill Leone-Glick

It was a fabulous feature in Riviera, the uber-luxury magazine of Orange County. The feature’s title, “Women of Style,” showcased six ladies from the community who each represented their unique sense of style. Each style setter was dressed and photographed in fashions from several Orange County luxury boutiques, and the photos were breathtaking! Thanks to David Yurman, the upscale jewelry boutique at South Coast Plaza, each of the style mavens were celebrated at a party in their honor at the luxury venue.

To say it was a packed house was an understatement. These ladies not only know their style but they also have lots of friends! The gaggle of 150 schmoozed with the ladies of style while enjoying sips of bubbly and nibbles of delicious tray-passed hors d’oeuvres. David Yurman’s store manager, the ever-popular Jill Leone-Glick, made sure everyone was enjoying themselves, as only she can.

Riviera’s Editor-in-chief Tina Borgatta and Publisher Chris Gialanella were all smiles at the soiree’s success, with Borgatta stepping to the microphone to introduce each style setter. She introduced Julie Anne Ulcickas, a former Tournament of Roses princess, as “channeling Princess Grace,” while Lourdes Nark she said she admired for her “classic looks and fashion forward style.” Borgatta said she knew the minute she saw Heather Madden at the CHOC Children’s gala in her Oscar de la Renta tulle gown, she had to be in the Women of Style feature. Unfortunately, Madden was out of town for the soiree. Erin Cole, owner of Erin Cole couture bridal salon in Costa Mesa, was selected for her “dramatic style,” Borgatta said, while Scharrell Jackson, CFO and Administrative Officer for the accounting firm of Squar, Milner, Peterson, Miranda & Wiliamson and one of OC Metro’s 2010 “HOT 25” honorees, was selected for her business fashion sense segueing into her after-hours activities. Dr. Bahar Sedarati, co-founder and medical director of Bahar Medical Group & Cosmetics in Lake Forest, designs many of her own ball gowns and was noted as “the opitome of elegance” by Borgatta.

Guests ogled the array of fine jewelry and timepieces, which featured one-of-a-kind pieces with exquisite, rare stones, as well as Yurman’s iconic Cable Classics. Leone-Glick said the premier jeweler’s new Willow Collection (see photo) was recently launched, and judging from the crowds gathered around the collection, guests were duly impressed. Thanks to the magnanimous retailer, 10% of sales proceeds benefited the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach.
