Joining me at her Jessica Grant for Assouline Book Bag launch was Suzan Paek

Suzan Paek is such an amazing woman! Not only is she raising four remarkable children, but she has launched a fabulous exotic skin handbag collection called Jessica Grant Handbags that is getting noticed in all the right places. As a matter of fact, Assouline, a French purveyor of fine books and unique gifts, came knocking to ask her to design a book bag for its luxury business. Suzan related, “My friend, Prosper Assouline, told me, ‘Suzan, you’re going to design a book bag for me!'” She said he wanted a bag for a woman or man living a city lifestyle. Suzan never missed a beat. You would not believe how beautiful the bag is! (see photo) Made of French linen, it features Assouline red leather and the brand’s signature antique brass hardware, as well as a signature “A” on both sides of the bag. The bag can be worn cross-body or as an arm or shoulder bag and is the perfect travel bag.

The reception to launch the Jessica Grant for Assouline Book Bag was held at the Assouline Boutique at South Coast Plaza, and, of course, nothing but French champagne would do at the soiree. Samples of Suzan’s gorgeous, colorful Jessica Grant (named after two of her children) handbags were displayed throughout the boutique, adding to the festive atmosphere. Boutique Manager Annette Ficarri graciously welcomed members of The Dream Guild, a women’s support group for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Orange County, with 15% of sales going to the deserving nonprofit. From the look of things, sales were brisk!
