I had a great time at the David Yurman store re-opening party at South Coast Plaza kibitzing with store manager Jill Glick, and I must tell you, it was a happening party! I had no idea David and Sybil Yurman were artists before they launched their iconic jewelry line into a national brand. With David a sculptor and Sybil an artist, it makes sense they would carry their talents into creating jewelry. The successful couple held court with David chatting with everyone and Sybil telling rapt listeners about the jewelry. I loved the look of the doubled-in-size boutique with its floating walls, black walnut counters and tables, suede couches, and artwork. The “home-feel” the couple wanted beautifully succeeded. As to the artwork, I found David’s bronze sculptures and Sybil’s colored pencil drawing captivating.

The good-looking crowd, the Harvesters support group for Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, were the invitees, thereby accepting a percentage of the evening’s sales for the charity’s hunger relief programs. David capped the evening nicely, saying, “I never thought we would be in a position to give back like this. It is truly a joy.”
